Tissue Plumping with Dermal Facial Fillers |

The underlying tissues that keep the skin looking youthful and "plumped up" may begin to break down, often leaving deep laugh lines, defined smile lines, creased frown lines, lip lines, or facial creases over the areas of the face where extensive muscle movement occurs. This can lead to a pre-maturely aged facial appearance.
Surgical intervention with the most advanced and proven injectable soft tissue fillers, like Restylane®, Radiance, or Radiesse, or with fat taken from other areas of the body, can help fill in the lines and creases, temporarily restoring a smoother, fuller more balanced look and a youthful firmness. These tiny yet potent injections are designed to "fill in" crevices in the skin formed by wrinkles, and a variety of deep facial lines in the mouth area (deep smile lines, vertical lip lines, laugh lines), add fullness to lips or redefine the lip border. Increasingly, these techniques can also "plump up" sunken areas of the face, like the cheeks and other depressions and so can restore or recreate the shape of the face itself, which has a tendency to flatten with time and the aging process. Tissue Plumping techniques may be recommended as part of a facial cosmetic surgery plan or in conjunction with dermatological skin care procedures such as medical peels, microdermabrasion or laser skin resurfacing, depending on the aesthetic goals to be attained.
