Chest Reduction for Men with Gynecomastia

GynecomastiaGynecomastia affects 40 to 60 percent of men in the United States. Due to heredity, excess fat deposits in the chest may cause overdeveloped breasts, a condition that presents frequently in both older and younger men.

Men who feel self-conscious may choose to undergo liposculpture to recontour the breasts. Liposculpture can permanently remove localized, excess fatty tissues and restore a slimmer, masculine, natural chest contour.

The tumescent technique is used in this procedure: anesthetic is injected into the targeted area. A long, narrow instrument is inserted beneath the skin through small incisions in an inconspicuous location (the edge of the areola, just beneath the breast or in the underarm area). The instrument is maneuvered to suction and permanently remove unwanted fat cells.
