Accomplished Artist and Surgical Pioneer

With over 30 years of experience at the North Shore Center for Facial Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Anthony J. Geroulis combines technical innovation, individualized attention, creativity and surgical skills to provide the best facility for plastic cosmetic surgery in the United States. An accomplished sculptor (New York Museum of Art award), Dr. Geroulis strives for natural-looking facial and body rejuvenation, integrating artistry, science and surgical skill to produce pleasing results for each individual.

Dr. Geroulis is a pioneer in the field of blepharoplasty (eye lifting), transconjunctival technique; the endoscopic forehead and brow lift; S-face lift; and liposuction surgery, as well as the author of scientific articles and educational videos found in the library of the American College of Surgeons.

Education and Training

Dr. Geroulis is a 1973 graduate of the Chicago Medical School, Chicago, Illinois. He trained in general surgery, otolaryngology, and head and neck surgery at the University of Chicago Medical Center. He also gained extensive experience in facial anatomy and structure. Dr. Geroulis trained with noted cosmetic surgeon Dr. Richard Webster, the pioneer and founding father of cosmetic surgery in the United States and the founder and first president of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS).

Founder of the North Shore Center for Facial Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery^SM

In 1977, Dr. Geroulis founded the North Shore Center for Facial Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery. He became a faculty member and instructor at Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, and was appointed Head of the Section of Otolaryngology for the City of Chicago's Board of Health. His practice has grown to serve teachers, physicians, surgeons, politicians, actors, news media personnel, celebrities and other dignitaries from around the around the world.

Educator

In 1999, he acquired full Clinical Professorship status in the Department of Surgery, where he continues to perform surgery and train doctors and surgeons. In conjunction with the University of Chicago, Dr. Geroulis organizes and directs international workshops for practicing surgeons and physicians on cosmetic surgical techniques and breakthroughs, and directs the Fellowship Program in Facial Plastic Surgery, one of the most specialized postgraduate training programs in the country.

As a visiting professor, Dr. Geroulis gives numerous lectures at national and international conferences, symposia and scientific sessions, including at the 23rd Congress of the French Society of Aesthetic Surgery in 2006. He is also regularly called upon to instruct other surgeons on his techniques in cosmetic surgery at the North Shore Center for Facial Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery and private clinics in Europe.

His surgical techniques and advancements have been featured in many interviews in U.S. media outlets such as CNN Headlines News, ABC-TV, CBS-TV, NBC-TV, WGN-TV, Comcast Channel 19 and CLTV, Chicago's cable news channel. He has appeared in local, national and international print media, including Newsweek, Cosmopolitan, Bazaar, Marie Claire, Redbook, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Chicago Magazine, North Shore Magazine and Crain's Chicago Business. Dr. Geroulis is also listed in the National Registry of Who's Who.

Awards and Memberships

Dr. Geroulis has been involved in many local, organizational and civic activities. He is past board member and trustee for National Louis University in Wilmette, a governing member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and has been on the President's Council of the Illinois Institute of Technology. Today, he is advisor to the Peer Review for the Illinois State Medical Insurance Exchange.
